Areas We Cover
Free, no-obligation roofing quotes across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and North Staffordshire.
Twenty-four areas across Stoke-on-Trent, the Newcastle-under-Lyme borough and the Staffordshire Moorlands. Pick yours for local prices and the roofing problems that come up most often on those streets.
The Six Towns
Stoke-on-Trent is a city of six towns rather than one centre, and each has its own housing character. The terraces here were built for the pottery industry, largely slated, and many share valley gutters between neighbouring roofs.
Hanley · Burslem · Longton · Tunstall · Fenton · Stoke-upon-Trent
Post-War Estates
Built quickly and to a common specification, mostly in concrete interlocking tile. Those coverings are reaching the end of their working life across whole streets at once, so full re-roofs are more often the right answer here than elsewhere.
Bentilee · Meir · Blurton · Abbey Hulton
South of the City
A mix of 1930s stock, modern estates and conservation-sensitive property. Dry-verge failures and extension flat roofs are the regular jobs.
Trentham · Weston Coyney · Blythe Bridge · Barlaston
Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough
Largely 1930s semis with hipped roofs, which means more bedded mortar to fail and more ridge and hip work than a gabled roof needs.
Newcastle-under-Lyme · Wolstanton · May Bank · Clayton · Chesterton · Silverdale
North and the Moorlands
Higher, more exposed ground where wind lifts tiles more often, plus a mining history that is worth checking against if a chimney stack has moved.
Kidsgrove · Biddulph · Endon · Brown Edge
How the Areas Differ
Roofing in Stoke-on-Trent is not uniform. The city was built as six separate towns and filled in around them, so the housing changes street by street in a way it does not in most cities this size.
That has practical consequences for what a job costs. A terraced roof in Longton with no side access needs a different scaffold plan from a 1930s semi in Wolstanton with a driveway. A concrete tile roof in Bentilee is a candidate for full replacement in a way a slate roof in Burslem is not. Out at Brown Edge and Biddulph, higher and more exposed ground lifts tiles that would sit tight lower down.
Each area page below sets out what is actually on the roofs there, alongside the same local price list.
Not Listed?
If you are just outside these areas, call anyway. Coverage runs across North Staffordshire and the boundaries are not exact. Places like Cheadle, Stone, Alsager and Talke sit close to the edge of the area and are usually still workable.
